Timothy Oulton brings his vintage english gentleman style to Restoration Hardware and isn't it a match made in interior decor heaven? Well to me it is. As Timothy's staple the very large tuffed sofa is upholstered in a cream fabric with other multiple options. For those who do not know Timothy Oulton; he is a brilliant english designer known for his modern spin on traditional pieces (my favorites are the trunks). This Royal Master Sealight floor Lamp is from restoration Hardware a little up there in the price range but really cool and detailed.

This chair I like and I remember a few years back it made a serious come back (I saw it everywhere, even Ads on T.V depiciting typical homes; I am yet to find them in someones home) any way its the Barcelona Chair by Knoll, you can see more at the Knoll website

Well the next chair was inspired by the ball chair. It is the Bubble Chair by Adelta, and i just love this chair to clear pieces. I just can't wait to own a place where i can get it installed. for more info check out eero-aarnio

Candice Olson in Elle Decor

One of My favorite Interior Deigners is Candice Olson, she always manages to pull a room together with a modern edge whether. I love the way she mixes styles yet stay true to the clients, an presents a wow factor. When she encooperates technology its always the latest. Candice is a designer for all; Loft dwellers, basement renos, studios, mansions, she pulls it all together. I really like the way she illustrates her ideas , the picture you see above is the room before. Here are the illustrations for the design, and the elements/ colors to be used.

Now here is the design

Everything just looks clean, well excuted and finished all down to accesories being included. The wing chairs look plush and comfy, while the sofa looks luxurious, chic, functional and comfortable. I feel free to sit and enjoy this room. This room was made for style function and comfort, and at J.W interior thats a model we live by.

Lucite in Gucci Ad Compain

The Gucci Ad compain features two model poolside doing what gucci models do best (posing in positions that make you think, In the words of Danielle fishel what the hell is going on in this Ad?) This time around they appeared to be sitting poolside with an unobstructed view to the pool. Well clear couches was the trick and I think pool side is a great place to put Lucite clear furniture.

I thought this was such a fun and funky rug to put in a space; i guess because of my teaching background i could relate to this. its so cute nad the fringes are just adorable. i think whether its a child's room or a living room it brings a relaxing to comforting edge in any space. oh it's on sale at really cheap price of $39 for a 5x8 or $79 for an 8X10. i would not even complain if my baby cousin poured paint on it for that price.

I happen to have the luck of living close to a Z gallerie outlet. I
love z gallerie the store so the outlet is a fav of mine, pictured
above is a desk which is going for $199 which is 50% original price no
damage brand new! They have great quality furniture at great prices.
You buy it as is and transportation is upto you. They offer delivery
for an extra charge. I usually go down the street and rent a uhaul
(way cheaper).

T.V is an interior designer's

Nightmare, so I have heard on many occasions but being a t.v addict
myself, most times when I design a living space T.V is a big priority.
Well that was my opinion prior to having to design this room; tv is
already mounted to the wall in the corner and can not be moved. This

I like houses that blend in with nature yet look modern. I would like to leave here: yeah it's see through glass for walls but if you had a views like that I don't think you would mind. I like the fact that you can pretty much see right through to the backround of grass covered hills and trees. The house looks very modern yet blends right in with the surroundings not imposing on nature or competing with it but rather paying its repects to it.

Antique finish framed mirror!

The magic of mirrors whether in furniture or accessories can bring a fresh, chic, glamour to a room. I especially love furniture pieces; traditional furniture pieces that are mirrored. It especially looks glamourous and feminine when it has an antiquity to the finish. Without the antique finish: it looks more sleek and comtempory. Just don't put too many pieces in one room; matter of fact one mirrored funiture piece can be enough.

I found many pieces I had seen before in many magazines but never took the time to find out who made them. well it was Aaron R Thomas based out of orange county california and what great work he makes. I found this bench in tjmaxx at del amo in Torrance; inexpensive and
stylish. The possibilities are endless. The geometric fabric and
choice of color makes it hip modern and traditional. It can go at the
end of the bed, by the entry way (place for people to sit and put
there shoes on). I could go on. The TJmaxx was having a sale on many
things (glass jars included).

by Timothy Oulton featured at HD buttercup in the helms bakery on
Venice blvd was a fresh take on traditonal pieces of furniture. This

furniture and art. A lot of them have been polished and some have been

Fresh Flowers

Nothing uplifts my mood like fresh flowers. When I come home and am
greeted by the sent of fresh flowers properly placed in a vase my
coffee table I am a happy girl. My favorites are peonies (pic below).
They bloom in may and June and they are pretty M.I.A for the rest of
the year. I love lillies too for their simplicity.

Okay I recently got this app on my iPhone called mark on call. I got
the lite version which is free so I can just try it out but am going
to go ahead and invest all $5 to get the full app. This app is great
for interior designers/de corators. It let's you design a room on the
go. It's easy to use and had gives you an option of taking pictures of
fabrics and colors and putting them in the design. Here is a sample of
a design I did for a client.

Dinner for 2 or 6

Well it's already established that I love shopping at Zgallerie. They have this great dinning table that suits most family sizes. Let's be real when was the last time the family sat down for dinner on a table with the idiot box off (am not judging I myself is included). The problem is my dinning table. If I get this dinning table i will be sure to eat on it everyday. It's cozy but yet can comfortably sit 6 (it's expandable comes with leaf). I like it's refreshing style and classic details such as the silver nail head trim. The colors choosen (dark ebony wood) and the fabric. The pricing is great as well. plates on walls

I recently went through a phase of plates on walls. I was incooperating it into all my decor and it was just fitting in perfectly with any style. Well if you are interested in this great way to decorate walls or to just jazz up a room (wow am now using words like jazz up lol???), it's quite easy to do. The hard part is getting plates that compliment eachother, or getting an over all design together. well check out your local craft store (joanns), buy some plate hangers (about $2 each for the big ones) put your plate in and hang on wall. plate hanger comes with both hook and hanger. check out that fabulous design above.

This black coffee table sits low (Since most furniture is moving in this direction), with high functionality, and style. The sides are big drawers that could hide your crap that you don't want others to see, yet you can not even tell it has drawers. the joints are invisible unless you really pay close attention; in my book thats a plus. so whether your style is crisp and clean, laid back and comfortable, modern, or traditional, this coffeee table is great. oh and the price is great to under $150 at Ikea.

love love clear jars. the can be used for anything, and to compliment any type of decor. they are perfect accesories, whether you want to se them to display items, or you want them to hold things you use and would like to have easy access to (there clear so you will know where that candy is), they are good for all of your needs. i especially like the ones that have that old apothcary shape to them. those tent to ave a lot of syle and more charm. you may not need much to put in there to make a statement. they can be found anywhere marshalls, tjmaxx, zgallerie (shown in picture above)

Are very comfortable. They are like a piece of art (priced as one as well) you happen to use as a sofa. they are vestile; you can change them around and reconfigure them to look and function as a different piece of furniture. They look inviting to sit it, i will just let the pictures say it all. here are few that i love. Patrik is my favorite. i find that these work well in lofts and large open floor plans, but they can also be used in small spaces as well, it just has to be done carefully.

Halloween Decor

When decorating for halloween, you can go all out for a bunch of stuff you are gonna be unable to use for another 11 months, or you can buy a few accesories and have a theme going. This year i am going with skulls, they are in, they are cute, sometimes free (killed any one lately you better recycle; at J.W interiors we are green). i will put these skills in a few places, continue the themes in accesorie like in the bar, pillows, place setting etc. Then be sure to invite a few friends over have a few drinks in the costumes that revel who you really desire to be.

Plasma T.V stand

I love this as a T.V stand for it's simple, clean, classic lines. it fits with all types of decor whether tranditional or modern this will work with. It is also very functional it hides awaythings you do not want to be displayed yet it leaves enough open space for cable boxes or dvd players making remote control easy. it also has cut outs in the back for all the wiring (can't wait to go wireless). Did i mention it is fully assembled and made of hardwood makes it heavy but this is a piece you can pass on to future generations (assuming they have your good taste). it can be used for other things too.

There is nothing more comforting than a plush deep soft sofa after a hard day of work. It's always there welcoming, and comforting you after a hard day's work. Seating is an essential in a living room's design and it should be a good investment because you are going to spend a lot of time on it. Things you should consider in a sofa are the frame; is it strong, what kind of wood is it made of, what's the guarante on the frame. It should be a life time warrant on a good one. Second what type of fill the sofa has; foam, feather down, or a combination of the two. the other thing to consider is the style. This is also as important as comfort. if it looks ugly it most likely does not look inviting. My recomendation is MW+BG fletcher sofa it has all those elements that make an essential.

Finding your style

So you want your space re-designed but you are not really sure what style you want. Before you leave it all to an interior designer here are a few things you should do to ensure that you are happy with the over all design of your space. these are things your designer might do with you but remember it might not be free so it's better you have an idea of what you want before hand. Take a look in some interior design magazines (dwell, domino, architectural digest, home and garden etc) to get an idea of what kind of room design you like. Your interior designer will really get a good idea of what type of style interests you and you will both understand eachother better. This will prevent common misunderstandings that can be easilly avoided. Anyway you designer should present the over all design before actually going through with it but there can be little snags like a product being out of stock. if you designer has a good idea of your style they can easily find you a great substitute of the product.

There is something simple yet elegant about the claw foot tub. It's a classic that never seems to go out of style. Your bed is an important item in you life. it's where you lay your head, it's where "the magic happens" it's where you wish to stay on those cold mornings before work. In bed is where you go to journeys and great adventures in dreams, it soothes and comforts and so it should be a place you can't wait to return to. There are many bed styles i like. The biggest component of a bed is the headboard. this is what your bed linens should be based on and it also determines how you pillows are arranged. Upholstered headboards look great and come in a variety of styles that match any decor. you can use pretty much any fabric in any color. You have options such as nailhead trim, tuffed buttons, and even wood framed. They can also be cost effective since they are easy to make. if you are not interested in any DIY there are plenty of stores that offer them. Zgallerie.com, Restorationhardware.com etc. there other treatments things you can do like siver or gold leafing a typical headboard, and a nice hardwood headboard is always a classic.

You spend a lot of time in your home. I know some of you don't spend that much time at home, but when you do finely get home it should be a place you love, a place you long for and hate to leave. If you already have such a home you are very lucky and please enjoy every single minute in it. If you don't have a home you absolutely love then let me make you fall in love with it. Life is too short and too long to spend time in a place you are not sure about. Let me help you fall in love with your home again. I work with all spaces, all styles, and i consider all budgets. I love a challenge. One thing to remember, it's your space i work with you to bring out your own style, so your home can reflect who you are.
